Listers,

Off topic, On topic... a new list?

As we are all aware, and as the years pass, the 'OT' on the Classics Rendezvous list keeps rearing it's ugly (?) head. In response, I have set up a Yahoo group dealing with post 1983 road bike stuff called 'IndexThis!' dedicated to road bikes and parts that click and even parts that click from the handlebars. In the interests of maintaining a list germane to my own interests, the one hard and fast rule will be 'no ten speed rear ends'. For all of you that like a wider rear spacing, start your own list.

The list will be geared towards 7 to 9 speed clicking drivetrains for the most part, including but certainly not limited to 7401 and up Dura Ace, C Record and forward Campagnolo, Suntour Superbe Pro seven speed, Sachs New Success and so on up to nine speed drivetrains. Want to sell some Shamals or funny bikes? Find a part for Ergo Carbon 8spd shifter? Together.we can immerse ourseves in STI, Ergopower and Comand shifters, TVT carbon frames, TSX probikes and the like.

Having been a member of this list and meeting many of you at swap meets or BVVW meetings, the courtesy and support within our community has always been a source of considerable pleasure to me. I hope to maintain that sort of conviviality on this list as well, though I'm sure there will be flare-ups here and there.

I think that the CR list is quite good at self-policing (though I haven't checked any of the recent posts) and I certainly hope that this list will be similar.
