What I found "tres cool" was the Coq Gaulois (French Rooster) cutout in the lower head tube lug. It's a mate to the map shaped cutout, as the Coq is a mascot of sorts for French sporting teams and events. That's why it was co-opted by the sports gear company Le Coq Sportif.
