Well, back to Q factor, quite by coincidence. Was talking to a pro rider fr om "back in the day" not long ago, we got to talking about the leather sadd le he was so proud of on his bike. First he tells me a long story about how he took it to Belgium because at the time he was racing you could only get a recover in Belgium (or so he says), then he mentions nostalgically that saddles today are different, so much narrower so that they can fit right up your buttocks (his words). So I ask him why, and he says it is to allow st raight, direct pressure to the pedal. "You move you ass a centimeter you ca n poop on your pedal" he tells me (this is a tame version of what he said). So it seem that indeed there is a "Q factor" that exists, and that it has nothing to do with BB width or crank positionning closer inboard, but narro w saddle, and that furthermore it is a modern concern, not something anybod y worried about before quite recently.

Anyway, that's the serious part. For the fun you can visit http://tiny.cc/4 xykb for the tribute to the great racer Luigi Spezionni.
