Subject: [CR] Colin's new biike

Hello All,

This will probably not be allowed on the site,,,but,,since I am now having difficulty balancing on my road or my track bike on the road, I decided to knock together a bike to ride the local canal banks,

I built the frame with road racing tubing ( so quite light), painted British Racing Green , since sometimes even a headwind is beyond my capabilities, I installed a Sturmey-Archer 3 speed and put on the braze ons for this. The brake levers are "old school" ( I hate that term ) touring levers and the brakes cyclo- cross.

I too'd and fro'd about the wheels but decided on mountain-bike type, but with smoother tires,,,it would never stack up to the rigours of mountain biking but is ideal for my purpose and of course in STEEL.The suspension fork was an after-thought when after the first excursion, my wrists were toast.

Because of all the recent interest in BOX LINING, I thought it would be nice to do that too,,,,it is many, many years since Jack Taylor showed me the ropes using a roller devise,,,but since I don't have one of those, used a brush instead,,,must say it came out pretty good despite my constant hand-tremors.

Thank You...COLIN LAING, CHANDLER, AZ. U.S.A
