Subject: Re: [CR] Actually using a Helicomatic?

Actually I have been going back and forth since before Christmas.

On one hand I have 3 bikes with this hub in either the 5 or 6 speed iteration that are bulletproof. Really I love this hub, I have replaced all the bearings with grade 25's and re-spaced the 126 hubs to 129 which yields nearly no dish rear wheels. I have accumulated a bunch of cogs to keep me going for a very long time. No bent axles and smooth as silk. Easy to switch between 1/2 step or anything else I might want.

It is just this. Curiosity ! Using the hub, freewheel/cassette, lock ring, opener as paper weights desk have me curious. OK I am a sucker for things that are polished prettily.

What can I say?

By the by I have a 600 ug hubset laced to Botrager clyde rims. WOW Bomb proof. Nearly a decade of hard use (big guy) over bumpy Pa and Oh roads and only just now did a couple of 1/8 turns for touch up.
