As I come near the end of my large tub of Campag. white lithium grease, I feel a bit sad. It has taken my 35 years to go through most of it. I purchased some Lubriplate white lithium grease in a small tube to try. Alas, the viscosity of the new stuff was such that the ball bearings wouldn't stay in place, making the overhaul much harder, and risking the bearings falling out of the hub and rolling away into relative obscurity.
Short version........the viscosity of the Campag. is darn near perfect fo r bicycle overhaul.
