BIANCHI and giving the date of manufacture, model number and advising one to look on the BB for a serial number. I'm wondering about the significance of this when it started and when it finished and why some bikes of the time frame seem to have it and some don't. Perhaps it is another one of the mysteries?

Around the late 70's Bianchi also licensed the name to Miele for production of "fake" Bianchi bikes, did they have a similar arrangement with other manufacturers? This would surely add to the confusion.
