Todd:  I have gone through the same thing before, as I am certain many others have.   Either take it to a friendly local bike shop or use a bench vise and open the jaws wide enough to fit the flats.  It woilll be unwieldy, but rotate the bike frame to unscrew the BB fixed cup.

Another way is to have a cut taken off one of the jaw flats of your large crescent wrench.  I have not had this done because my friendly local machinist isnt as friendly as he used to be.   Bruce

Can someone tell me the tool I need to remove the fixed or drive side cup on a French Bottom Bracket? None of my bottom bracket tools are right and the large crescent wrench isn't large enough either.
Thanks
