--------------------------- No idea about that gizmo, unless it is a metal framed glass reflector - to warn following motor traffic under low light conditions... but, I doubt that.
Notice too, there also appear to be cantilever brake posts mounted on the seat stays, seen just below the brake blocks. And, the pedals with toe-clips and straps attached are actually double-sided - with teeth on the bottom sides of the cages. The wheel rims look quite wide to me, perhaps as wide as the tires. I guess you would want the massive wing nuts for that rear flip-flop hub... to avoid Tulio's difficulty - fumbling with his frozen fingers - only a few years prior. The front hub appears to have smaller more familiar looking papillons.
Looks like a pretty comfy bike. I'd love to ride it!
