Did anyone else find this auction a bit baffling? The frame seems to be clearly an '80s frame, no way it's from 1975, right? Yet the seller tells his story with a certain convincing flair.. but I thought the colnago stamped bars, the stamped chainstay, the crimped stay-ends at the rear drops, that all these are clear 80s artifacts. Plus note that the cranks have the date-code in a circle, which means that they had not been made yet when the seller's story took place.

Perhaps the guy who sold the bike to the current seller was blowing smoke. Clearly someone was.

It's a perfectly nice bike, but not from 1975.

It's a wild and woolly world out there when it comes to used bikes, isn't it? that NYC ranter isn't so far off even when it comes to high-end stuff, sometimes.
