Welcome Justin:

What is that on the head tube? Not a clue-giving badge?

Yes those are Henry James (Folsom) components. (Anyone know when Hank first produced these lugs & crowns?)

This bike appears very competently built if somewhat anonymous in it's features. It may be a tour de France winner and part of a top team, but the frame itself is not particularly distinctive. Maybe it needs a pink paint job. (That's an inside joke referencing some earlier posts)?

The only thing my jaundiced eye catches is the misplacement of the cable guides on top of the bbkt shell; novice builders these are too far back!?

I'm afraid the serial number may be your only real clue, that's a bit of an odd spot to place them, so maybe something will come to light...

Good luck in your quest,

Dale

I picked up this road bike the other day, and am having trouble identifying it. It is equipped with campy Super Record cranks, campy 27.2 seat post, mavic Cosmic wheels, DA derailleurs, Cinelli stamped bottom bracket shell, and campy dropouts. The only identifying mark is the serial number E8205 on the non drive side dropout. The bottom bracket is english threaded, and 68mm shell width. The people on bikeforums.net say it has a Henry James fork crown. They also say the Portacatena holes in the dropouts are a clue it's late 70's/early 80's.
