Dale, I saw this after the fact but am not surprised in the least! I been in the hunt for such a bike for a long time and can tell ya they almost never come up. About a year ago I saw a 1971 frameset in great shape go for $2900... there were several bidders up to the very end. These early Colnagos are really hard to find in clean condition as they were usually raced or well ridden. Since I have 13 Colnago's now it's hard to make a case for another *but* I'm glad I didn't see it earlier...it would have been tempting. Even in this economy the creme still rises to the top!
