Subject: [CR] Rims for 1954 Duravia (Mecadural)

Debating the rims for the 1954 Duravia-badged Mecadural. This bike takes 700C. Period correct 700C clinchers are going to be rare/expensive, so I'm thinking a more practical route might be to find a more recent fairly wide, polished box-section alloy rim and simply remove the label, as the labels could easily be missing from a 1954 bike.

At first I thought I would need rims without eyelets, but looking through Jan's book, I see several bikes from the 50's with eyelets, although others are seen without eyelets. I would guess the ones with eyelets were single rather than double eyelet, but it's difficult to tell on a built up bike.

So anyone have any appropriate 700C rims for sale with single eyelets or no eyelets? Failing that, what is the general opinion as to how correct (or incorrect) in appearance it would be to use Mavic MA2's with labels removed?
