I recall when a new PX-10 listed for $250 (I recall circa 1972).  The UO-8 was superior to the typical department store fodder available from Sears, Montgomery Wards, JC Penney, et al, in the early days of the "Bike Boom", but a far cry from a pro-peleton worthy (at the time) top-of-the-line PX-10.

Fixie fools have been paying that kind of money for common old entry level gas pipe bikes.

The hype on this offering was a little over the top, IMO.

I sent the seller a polite note about his historical inaccuracies. Peugeot UO-8s were probably the most commonly imported European bike between the late 60s and late 70s. The only thing that it has in common with a PX-10 is the brand name! $1000? PX-10s at one point sold for under $300!
