I love these guys, they spice up the cycling seen! They roll into my shop and drop a few hundred $$$, got 2 stands going after hours and poof sales, sales and more sales. Yes! I know there's a love hate situation with the fixie crowd but what the hell take what you can from them and let the good times roll. Yes!.................We got a new shop here in Santa Barbara, THE BIKE STAND! 9 weeks into the new shop and we're now scooping up the vacant shop next door. The crew here has named it BIKE STAND 2.0. Both shops, the shop owners were still in these 2 shops who were in need of leaving, so we took on the first, then the second. Cafe de velo Santa Paula we'll be moving it to a new Santa Paula address, it's now going to be used for our on-line sales, maybe retail sales later on. Those who are in the bike bizz, the fixie seen is not a fad, its real! So take it on while you can. I got the some high school kids who are now diving into the fixie seen, some of their parents are happy to see that theirs kids are getting outdoors, Less X-BOX! Most of our fixie customers are adding a road bike or 2 to their stable. Just this year I had a few student customers flowing into my shop, HEY!! Baron I got $$$$$ to spend so what do you got. When all said and done 2 customers a few hours later dropped a $ 1,000.00 plus each! For the next 3 weeks they we're making daily visits>>>>>>>>>Spending a few hundred $$$ a pop. THESE WE'RE FIXIE GUYS>>>>>>>>>FILLING THEIR ROAD BIKE FIX! Just this week one purchased a COLNAGO road frame, the same customer 3 days later bought a time trial bike. PooooooF! A few days later there goes the Panto COLNAGO crankset $ 375.00 and so on. A few of my customers has moved onto cyclecross as well. So now they are not only in need of keeping their fixie bikes rolling but they also need to their road bikes and cyclecross bikes rolling as well>>>>>>>>>And many will a townie bike or 2. Like I said let the good times roll! Sooooooooo go with the flow and roll with these guys, you just might regain some of your youth! Roll with whatever you can, BMX>>>TRICYCLE>>>grandma 3 speed>>>Omafiets! Right now they ( fixie guys ) are off to the parking garage for some bike soccer, so out comes their soccer bikes. Friday's to the beach for some volley ball, tomorrow bike race night. So to say, they do a lot more on bicycles than just ride around on their silly colored bikes and wearing silly looking clothing. They do a lot more on bicycles than many of US>>>NORMAL CYCLIST! Silly or not I have one customer who will do centuries on a fixie! This guy has big time balls, and he's an older guy as well. Fixie or not they still rolling on 2 wheels! BTW: A few fixie bikers were seen rolling their home made circus bikes down the street 6 to 8 feet high! Very cool watching 5 to 6 rolling down the street!>>>>>>>>>>>>>Perhaps future frame builders.
BC.........And the gang! Goooooooooing with the flow.
