"Schwinn Approved" was around way before the 70's. My '47 Continental(3 speed) has "Schwinn Approved" caliper brakes which were made in England and a dead ringer for the old GB steel brakes. My later Continentals have the same brakes but marked "Schwinn Built". Same is true on some early '50' 3 speed triggers that came on the "lightweight" Schwinn's. I also have a set of "Schwinn-Webb" bolt on cantilever brakes, Paramount / Superior specific, from '38. These were Webb brakes from England and renamed for sale in US. They are mentioned in the '38 Paramount catalog. Stands to reason they sourced and re-badged long before these examples.

As for rims for the '70 P-13 ; My '71 P-13 has "Mavic Montlery" (stamped in rim) , "Championnat Du Monde" on Red lable. They are dated '71 and original to bike.

I think I have an NOS set or two to spare if needed.
