Offered to CR members are some beautiful, interesting and uncommon frames and one jaw dropping, stunningly gorgeous road bike.

I can take payment a number of ways - Paypal or cheque in GBP, cash sent registered post, Traveller’s cheques in $, direct bank transfer within the UK or European Iban bank transfer. I will always combine shipping in order to reduce costs.

Frames cost 80 GBP to ship to the USA, 100 GBP to ship to Australia/New Zealand and 11 GBP within the UK. A complete bike is about 120 GBP to the USA.

With the pound being still quite low in value these are a real bargain... for US and European buyers. Paypal is quoting 1.6$ to 1 GBP.

SOMEC ROAD BIKE c1979 Seat Tube (ctc): 56cm Top Tube (ctc): 54.5cm Rear dropout width: 126mm Wheel size: 700C Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm Frame tubing: Columbus SL Somecs are one of the smaller Italian framebuilders whom I have been extremely impressed by. This earlyish frame must date from 1979 - its full of superb details - the head lug cutouts are stunningly delicate but perfectly precise and with lovely slots on the forward side. It is equipped with a Cineli Unicanitor saddle on a slotted Campag Record seatpost, bars and stem are 3TTT complete with black leather covering in virtually perfect condition. Brakes, chainset, front and rear derailleurs are all Campag Nuovo Record. The down tube levers are C-Record from the late 1980s. Wheels are Campag Tipo hubs with Mavic MA40 clincher rims. The chromevalato paint (slightly transparent red paint over chrome plating) and chrome is in virtually perfect condition. There is one very tiny dent to the side of the top tube. 475 GBP

WHITLOW CLAUD BUTLER 1948 Seat Tube (ctt): 26in 66cm (25in 63.5cm to top of top tube) Top Tube (ctc): 23.5in (60cm) Rear dropout width: 115mm Wheel size: 27in/sprints/700C Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 63mm Frame tubing: Probably Reynolds 531 This is one truly big frame - both long in the seat tube and top tube. Although transferred as a Whitlow of Runcorn it was undoubtedly built by Claud Butler. The rear dropouts are proprietary Claud Butler, the BB carries a 1948 CB number and the bi-laminated head, seat and BB is typically Claud but there is another frame number presuambly applied by Whitlow on the left rear dropout. In black and cream it is extremely attractive. The paint is in excellent condition with only a few marks. 175 GBP

FREJUS SUPER CORSA/PROFESSIONAL c1961 Seat Tube (ctc): 52cm Top Tube (ctc): 55cm Rear dropout width: 120mm Wheel size: Sprints/700C Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 50mm Seatpost size 26.8mm This stunning looking Frejus is as far as I can tell mostly in its original paint, the down tube decals have been replaced but the other decals are original and in a few places the paint has been touched up. The chrome is very good with no signs of peeling. To find an older Italian road frame of such quality is this condition is rare indeed. It comes complete with the original Frejus mudguards in superb order. Frejus frames are sleek and modern looking with simple single point lugs and were in many ways ahead of their time. More on Frejus can be found at http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/frejus.html 275 GBP or near offer

RALEIGH RECORD ACE MODERNE 1988 Seat Tube (ctt): 24.5in (62cm) Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm) Rear dropout width: 128mm Wheel size: 700C Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm Frame tubing: Reynolds 653 The Raleigh Record Ace Moderne was originally supplied with Shimano’s ground breaking white painted Santé groupset. This frame is in very good condition with no dents or dings; the paint is a little scruffy but with careful cleaning could look very nice. This was Raleigh’s top production road frame for 1988 built with Reynolds 653 tubing which is significantly lighter than 531C. 95 GBP
