If you want classic looking tan sidewalla, Panaracer Paselaa are the most popular, at least in USA. Still made in various 27" widths, available with or without Kevlar, wire bead or folding (folding is handy for carrying a spare). And reasonably priced. Michelin and Schwalbe also still make classic looking 27" tires. And IRC did at least until recently.

\r?\n> Do you have any preference of what

\r?\n> they should look like?

\r?\n> I seem to recall some early-60's bikes came with all-black

\r?\n> 27" tires, if that helps.  I fitted my '62 Continental

\r?\n> accordingly with that 1-1/8" size.

\r?\n> Cheng Shin makes an inexpensive C732 that looks like an

\r?\n> all-black gumwall but with very thin sidewall rubber and a

\r?\n> mildly peaked tread profile, relatively supple and light and

\r?\n> measuring 26mm inflated. These were formely tan-sided.

\r?\n> I think these are labeled Super HP.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> A Cheng Shin tan Gumwall is over 100g heavier, but model

\r?\n> C637 Super HP in 1-1/4" size still measures a modest 28mm

\r?\n> inflated, is the best of it's type imo and looks proper with

\r?\n> it's subtle diamond/rib tread pattern. Kendas and other

\r?\n> Chinese gumwalls look a LOT more cheap and are a little

\r?\n> wider and with more pronounced ribs.

\r?\n> Gumwalls are good for vintage bikes in that the rubber

\r?\n> protects the sidewall fabric for years longer than does the

\r?\n> paper-thin rubber on skinwalls. Stored (collected) bikes

\r?\n> might otherwise require more frequent tire replacement.
