I'm the furthest thing from an expert here but I'd say the prominent B.CARRE' engraving on the seatstay cap in the photo is a definite good sign.

> Hi list, I just bought off EBay what is said to be a Bernard Carre frame set. It is item # 370288371200. I have a few questions for the French experts out there. Is this a genuine Carre? If so about which year? Which brand would it have originally be sold as? Did Bernard Carre sell bikes under his own name or were they always sold as something else? I have been considering adding something French to my collection for a while, but my only previous experience was with UO 8's and the like. I am a little nervous about the Carre identification as I was the only bidder on a fairly modest opening bid auction. I have gotten the impression over the last few years that Carre built bikes are fairly desirable so the low level of interest on this frame is somewhat alarming. I also gather that Carre frames can vary considerably in quality, if this is a Carre is it a poor quality one ? Thanks for any help.
