Ah, well, that depends on your bicycle! And your riding; to work, tour, train, or race? Fair weather or foul?

I have a pair of Carnac shoes, very light, close fitting, with holes in the uppers. They are not stiff, they are touring shoes that cannot take cleats, but it they were, and could, that would be the other classic type of cycling shoe. Black, to not show road and chain grime over time.

You want a light shoe with nothing to interfere with the clips and straps.
