Subject: [CR] New Issue of Bicycle Quarterly is Out

I received my new issue of BQ day before yesterday and have already read it cover to cover. Jan seems to improve this publication with every issue. Interesting coverage of the Oregon Manifest competition that one hopes will develop into an annual reincarnation of the French Technical Trials. Also good reviews of two US constructeur bikes entered in that competition, including the winner. And a review of another, less expensive TIGed steel randonneur.

In addition, several good reviews of components and accessories, including SoCal-made Acorn randonneur front bag and roll seatbag that I loaned Jan for testing.

If you don't subscribe to BQ, I suggest you pick up the current issue. Looks like the "back" issues sold on the BQ website include the current issue. Mike Kone (Rene Herse Bicycles) also sells individual BQ issues, although he doesn't yet list the newest issue. I think one issue will be enough to hook many CR members on this excellent publication, particularly if, like so many of us, your interest has been shifting from racing bikes to touring/commuting/randonneur machines.
