Subject: [CR] Pino Telavio...fork needed

Mark and all -

I do have a Pino track fork, which I guess could be modified for a brake, but I'm not convinced that it will work for that frame. The steerer tube is 19.2cm, but it appears that about the first 5mm of thread is a bit "flattened" (and there's only about 25mm of thread overall). I can still thread a cup on, but it's less that optimal. And for a 58cm frame, you probably need at least 20/22cm of steering column. The fork I have is not like the one on my Telavio. It's similar, but does not have the diamond-crimped blades, the crown is different, the inner tangs are shorter and have inverted tear-drop windows, but the crown and drop-outs are still chromed. In fact, the entire fork is probably chromed, but the blades are painted pearl white like the color on my frame. If you know the owner, and he thinks this might be the only option, have him get in touch with me.

I don't think there are too many Pino forks floating around out there, but I would certainly like to see that frame resurrected. There just aren't that many around. However, that one is going to take a dedicated owner to get it back to what it should be. At the price that I believe that frame sold for, it's probably still worth the investment. To help in that endeavor, I will be happy to donate a set of Telavio transfers to any professional painter that refinishes that frame. -- Wayne Bingham Velo Classique PO Box 2069 Purcellville, VA 20134 USA 540-338-8376 http://www.veloclassique.com
>>>Yet another Pino Morroni Telavio road frame has turned up here in the Detroit area, and it was purchased by a local guy I know. The problem is that it is a frame only, in somewhat rough condition, and with no fork.

Barring the nearly impossible chance that someone has a spare Pino fork available, does anyone know if Cecil Behringer is still building? Seems to me he would be the next best person to make one, given the rumors that he built some of Pino's bikes anyway. The frame is 58cm c-c, by the way. If not Cecil, then does anyone have a suggestion for someone else to make this, or where to acquire a fork that resembles this one on Wayne Bingham's Telavio?: http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/Wayne-Bingham/Telavio/?g2_page=2

Thanks very much...
