Hi Robb, I continue to keep an eye peeled for one of their top line models - but for a company who's catalog goes on about how large they are, I sure dont see them often. The catalog lists the distributor's address in america was on West 6th street, here in Los Angeles. Some day I'll find one !!

The catalog I have quotes statistics on 1984, but does not explicitly mention the date on the cover or anywhere. I only scanned the two top models they offered - their SPR Professional a 21.9 lb, tange 2 model. (Robb... leme take the book in to work and scan more - there is a model called the RX7, Roadace, with the color 'Claret Wine R-14' ... which could be this first one of the bikes you've found - crankset is SR SAC-100 with 170mm 42/52 - model weighs in at 24lbs)

The last page of my catalogScan tells the story behind the Kangaroo logo: http://www-hsc.usc.edu/~rpinder/Maruishi.pdf

Models : SPR Professional (superbe pro) STC Competition (cyclone) STR Record STE Excellence TA18 Tourace TA15 Tourace RX7 Roadace RX6 Roadace RX5 Roadace RX4 Roadace MT18 Mountace CT15 Citiace CT6M/CTM6/T6/TL6/TL3 citybikes
