My name is Matt Wilkinson, I'm 34 and I live in east London, UK. A couple of years ago I decided that I'd like to start building lugged bicycle frames, and I also became a cycle courier as part of my research into cycling culture, which I still do. I'm now building my second frame for a friend.
I own a 1946 Bates Vegrandis, which has brought me to Classic Rendezvous, because I'm having trouble sourcing a replacement headset. It's a floating race Phillips type; corroded and worn on my bike. If anyone can help me or point me in the right direction I'd be very happy, as I've had the frame stove enamelled (though unfortunately I couldn't afford a total restoration so just went for one colour).
I did see a new old stock headset on ebay some time ago, but I didn't act quickly enough and it was soon sold.
Any advice would really be appreciated.
