I have a Cunningham Expedition bicycle that was likely built in 1987 and was sold in 1988. Charlie built these bikes with a 27 inch front wheel and a 700c rear wheel. Charlie went with this format because he felt the slight difference added more rotating balance. I can't say for sure how it works, but overall the bike rides like a dream.
