So Wayne, any idea what "Trials" these 19T to 25T 50.4 BCD rings were made for? One naturally thinks of the Technical Trials, but despite the fact that they did involve some pretty difficult terrain, one would not think rings that tiny would have been used. Perhaps the Trials referred to are hillclimbs on very steep courses.

\r?\n> I just wanted to add a bit of

\r?\n> information to this discussion.  There are

\r?\n> several types of TA Pro 5 "outer" rings.  The more

\r?\n> common is the model CY

\r?\n> 205, which has the combination 50.4 5-pin BCD and 80 6-pin

\r?\n> BCD drillings.

\r?\n> These were available in 36t to 68t.  There are also

\r?\n> models 205 (3/32") and

\r?\n> P205 (1/8") that have "single drilling"  50.4 5-pin

\r?\n> BCD drilling only. These

\r?\n> were available in 28t to 68t.  In addition, there is a

\r?\n> model T205 3/32" ring

\r?\n> with "single drilling"  50.4 5-pin BCD that was

\r?\n> designed for Trials (in the

\r?\n> catalog, it specifically states "At the request of 'Trials'

\r?\n> bicycle makers,

\r?\n> T.A. have introduced a range of chainrings in FORTAL 2017

\r?\n> A-T4 light alloy

\r?\n> to meet their special requirements").  These were

\r?\n> available in 19t to 25t.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Just wanted to add what I could to the knowledge-base and

\r?\n> archives.

\r?\n> Thanks Thomas and everybody else for the input! Somebody I

\r?\n> ran into

\r?\n> (and can't find again) mentioned having a 19t chainring

\r?\n> with a 50.4mm

\r?\n> BCD for direct mounting to the inside of the TA flange. You

\r?\n> could then

\r?\n> set up something like a 44/20 to make a dandy touring

\r?\n> double.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> I'm pretty partial to the range I got with my 44/32/20 and

\r?\n> modified

\r?\n> straight 8 (13-17, 20, 26, 34), I did need/appreciate the

\r?\n> 20/34 more

\r?\n> than a few times; it was fabulous in some small choppy

\r?\n> mountains I

\r?\n> encountered. Lately though it's occurred to me that I could

\r?\n> do pretty

\r?\n> much the same thing with a double - and the one thing that

\r?\n> I didn't
