With great reluctance, I have just sold all my collection of "Cycling" and "Bicycle" weekly mags. I did have an ulterior motive for collecting these, Many of them have results and photos OF ME racing in the early 50s In Britland, BUT another reason for collecting these if the many, many photos and adds, showing the bikes that we all love to collect, IF only bikes could talk, the tales they could tell! So next time you ride that Brit or any other nationality bike, LISTEN to it maybe it is telling you, "HEY my oldboss did a under the hour 25 mileTT on me, Put it up a notch you slow poke I am use to going MUCH faster than this!" So A TIP to you collectors,look for these old mags, even the French TDF "LeMirror" ones that I know Aldo has a fine collection of, study the bikes, the riders, there position on the bike, the LOOK on the faces, Then WHEN you ride again, PRETEND YOU are riding in the TDF, have some FUN! Isnt this was collecting is all about, NOT having some PERFECT concourse Bike all clean and shinny HANGING on the bloody wall. GO RIDE IT! I DO!
