I bought a metric thread chasing file from Bob Freitas at Cirque one year. At the end of the axle, with just a few threads, 10x1 (10x25.4) ought to clean things up right quick. Of course, I don't remember for sure if it included a 1 mm. pitch face. Must have. I'm copying Bob. It wasn't cheap, but seems like a good one. that's how Bob is.

David, The best idea I have is to find a machine shop that can cut/ clean up your axle. A good lathe/machinist should do the trick. Greg Davis Mountain View, CA
