Sorry for the misunderstanding. My comment about the "nothing extraordinary" was about current-day FRENCH builders of racing bikes, in response to a question about current-day FRENCH builders.

As you know from reading Bicycle Quarterly, I consider many of the current builders in North America and Japan quite extraordinary indeed.
