Listfriends,

A big thank you to my respondents so far, vis-a-vis items for sale. Just wanted to say that the Jubilee, the seatpost, the Look bottle, and the french bars have by now been spoken for.

I would also like to offer:

A french-dimensioned alloy Milremo stem, Cinelli-style, with beautiful Milremo script (accent over the "e") on the front of the (90mm) extension. Actually, it is 22.0 steerer, but easily accepts 25.4 bars. The top of this stem is very clean, but there are numerous insertion marks pretty high up, and two small, mysterious dings on the right-hand side. Not quite dents, they're almost like smears, as if someone just so slightly touched this with the side of a soldering iron. They are not deep. Overall, then, very attractive for something more like a beater bike. Possibly improvable by some one with a good touch with a file, etc., but assume it to be a mix of ugly and sublime. The Milremo script engraving is gorgeous. $28 shipped.

GB stem a la early '70s Raleigh, 75mm extension. Needs polishing and a binder bolt, but good to very good condition. I spy a couple of marks from pounding on the bolt head, and close inspection reveals a few nicks. Garden-variety GB stem here, but sometimes that's exactly what you need. Pretty nice, and a mere: $17.50 shipped.

GB "riser" bars, unbranded, alloy. I had these shipped to the US from GB. Do I have the name right? They are--in shape-- like extremely shallow "north road" bars--but do not come back toward you (that's how shallow they are). 21" or about 53.5cm in width. 25.4mm centre. Believe they are from the 1950s. About two inches of rise (or drop), off-axis. You've seen the like often enough. These are cleanly, but well-used, no longer high-polish, if they ever were. Take road levers, looks like diameter is 23mm, or 23.5. $36 shipped, but not so much of that is shipping as these are very light.

Stronglight BB spindle, 118mm. Looks near unused condition, bearing surfaces are perfect, but the tapers are ever-so-slightly shiny where crankarms were on them. But I had to look closely to make the call. Threads show evidence of lubrication; and they are in great shape. Everything you could want in a spare part. $24 shipped.

Thanks, all.

Best Regards,

Tom Ward Bonita, CA -- USA
