I was looking at my copy of "The Custom Bicycle" by Michael Kolin and Denise de la Rosa. In the introduction, they explain why they left out some famous builders. Referring to one they say, "Many industry people claim that one very famous builder hasn't built a frame in years...install his own decals...built by one of the recognized 'masters.'" The book was published in 1979. Any suggestions who they were referring to?
