Tom and Dale,

Thank you for the input. I was just curious as I saw a Mighty for sale & it seemed like a lot of $$$. I have a Maxy on my Motobecane and it is 171. I am working with a list member to find a crank that will work on my bike with a longer arm.

Thank you,

David

Dear Dave:

The Mightys are one piece forged cranks with a 144mm bolt circle (except for the Mighty Tour which used the 110mm circle) while the Maxys usually have the crank spider swaged onto the arms, and use the 110 mm bolt circle. The Maxys usually seem to be made of softer aluminum and the ones I had creaked on the BB unless really tight, although the Mightys were not as hard as Campy Aluminum. The Mightys were also an odd 171mm for their standard length (I'm not sure what the Maxys used). So in general, the Mightys were the higher end cranks.
