Amir,

It depends on the type of material you are using to machine flanges.

The easy answer is take the hub you are trying to copy to a machine shop that can test for material hardness and then duplicate the hub exactly; otherwise, find an engineering student who can make you a solid/finite element model.

Anybody know what is the maximum and minumum acceptable width of aluminum hub flanges (near the spokes)? Any studies done, to find out what hole size, hole shape, flange thickness, etc. is best for a 3 cross wheel?
