I too have an Eisentraut at Ed Litton's for respray. Believe it's an A, but filet brazed with a seat binder bolt through the center of the top tube, very clean. A beautiful frame with an Eisentraut BB shell and very streamlined seat-stay attachment.

Another interesting detail is a braze-on front derailleur attachment for early Dura Ace which was a little off vertical such that as you changed outer chainring size and moved the derailleur up or down to compensate, the derailleur cage angle.

Anyway, Ed's reading of the serial number was same as Bill indicated, mine being an '81. Per Ed, he was working at Eisentraut in 81 and recalled building filet brazed frames.

Tom:

Ed Litton is repainting my "A" model Eisentraut and removing some aftermarket brazeons while he is at it. Ed was a partner of AE for some years. The SN on my bike (on the BB and on the steerer tube in way too small numbers is: E130475. Ed Litton translated this SN for me as the 13th frame built in April of 1975.
