Thanks all for the input.  This one's a bit of a poser.  The headtube decal does say "Carrera Sport", but it's got the gold foil Columbus seat tube decal.  Maybe that was added by a former wishful-thinker?  I haven't received the frame yet - maybe I'll get a better idea once I have it in my hands.  If it is lightweight Columbus, maybe it was badged differently at the factory?  Maybe too much tequilla the day it was built by the paint crew?

I guess I can put on my best nerd impression and just ride it.  Think I'll build it with a Suntour Superbe group I have laying around here somewhere.

I think this one was called the Super Carrera. It was a favorite of the nerdy type value oriented customer as it had nice components for the money along with the decent frame. These guys would come in with notes, a calculator, and prices from other shops and you knew it would be a long day. The Mexican made Windsor hubs, headsets, spokes and rims on the various models had their shortcomings though. Never saw?the Super Carrera?with Columbus tubing. I have to say I?did not?enjoy selling Windsors and usually attemped to show the relatively greater value of a more consistent make, although I personally thought my Pro track bike was excellent and the rims lasted for my use.

That doesn't look like any Sport model I've seen. Looks more like---perhaps it's a Carrera?

Carrera Sports were quite heavy! ?Not even chromoly.
