I'd like to add two things. Here is the link to the site of the museum, which is interesting in itself, if only for the nice pictures. The museum is in a way dedicated to Jean-Pierre Monserre (a great talent that died sadly while only at the start of his career), you can see him in the picture together with Roger de Vlaeminck and Eddy Merckx.

The other thing ... I hope the seller offering the Van Looy bike is not the same guy that sold the Eiffel Tower to a tourist ...

Listers,

This might interest those with deep pockets, and/or that nice bonus from last year. On kapaza.be, a kind of Belgian Craigs list, this '62 Flandria is offered. It is supposedly the one that Rik van Looy ('the emperor of Herentals') used to win Paris-Roubaix that year. Authentication is supplied by a postcard, with a handwritten and signed note by Van Looy: 'with this velo I won Paris-Roubaix' (yes, why make it more complicated than that!).

Asking price is 15.000 euros, but with the dollar appreciating recently, that shouldn't be a problem ... :-) The price can reduced the text says, if you're willing to leave the bike in the museum where it is now (in Roeselaere: http://www.wielermuseum.be/) for another 5 years. The minimum is 2500 euros.

The sellers telephone number is at the bottom of the text, so give him a ring ...
