Subject: [CR] Subject: Any experience shipping frame to England?

"Does anyone have any experience on shipping a frameset (frame/fork) to the UK? Any idea of cost when using a regular cardboard bike box? I know how to pack it for protection, just wondering what to tell a perspective customer there about shipping cost and time.

Thanks, Linwood Hines"

You can ship a frame/fork to the UK via USPS Priority mail for about $70-$80. BUT, you must cut down the box to be under 108" total girth. That's 2 x height + 2 x width + length. It's a snug fit but can be done safely if you are careful. Frames over 60cm can be difficult.

This goes for Japan and most of Europe. A lot of Asia and Australia only accept a 79" total girth package and it is not possible to fit a frame in a box that small. In this case you have to go up to the Express service which is three or four times more money.

You can always got to USPS.com and check prices and size limits for any of this stuff.
