Subject: [CR] Fully renovated 1957 Jack Taylor Super Clubman frame

A close friend of mine has offered me an immaculate large, possibly 23.5/24" 1957, one-owner Jack Taylor Super Clubman frame. The frame is lugless and was fully renovated by Ken Taylor sometime in 1985 or so, since which time it has not been built up or even let out of the dry bedroom in which it has been stored.

The paint job is very attractive and idiosyncratic, being a mixture of red with black panels, double-box lining etc etc. It is immaculate. The only blot on the frame's character is the fact that at the time of the respray the owner had a Campagnolo derailleur hanger brazed on to the R/H rear drop-out. I think that the paint is gloss black at that point so it would be relatively easy to remove the hanger and make good the paintwork.

I already have far far too many frames and bikes including several Jack Taylors, one of them being a track frame that could be the twin of the one I am being offered, so I have kept my wallet in my pocket on this occasion.

I said I would out the frame to the List. The seller , who has an excellent track record on Ebay would like to sell the frame to a true enthusiast rather than letting it go to the vaguaries of Ebay. He is supposed to be sending me some jpegs. However if anyone is interested I would be happy to put you in direct touch with the seller.
