The bivalents and the badged stem were not original to this bike, but the stem certainly could have been fitted to a Cinelli from that year, and I believe that the bivalents could have too. At one time I owned the 3-piece version of the bivalent hubs, so I assume that these were available as far back as the 50's... Can anyone speak to this?
I have seen a lot of different combinations of front and rear ders on bikes from the early 60's. This bike came with the GS rear and the Record front. My thought is that the improvement realized by upgrading from a pushrod front der to a parallelogram front der was very significant while the upgrade from GS rear to a Record rear might have been more subtle...
