Hello all,

Trying to finish up my Jack Taylor Tourist that I finally tracked down and bought from a list member. It is this ratty 1969 bike:  http://www.blackbirdsf.org/taylor/5954.html I have all the parts thanks to a few list members and feEbay and after hours of cleaning and inspecting I decided I could use a few more things.

The headset is a Stronglight P3 ? and it is pitted like I have never seen so I would like to replace it all or at least the frame cups and crown race. It appears a V4 is very similar so maybe that is another option. Anyone have a complete headset or parts for sale, English thread?

I also need another set of clincher wheels. Something correct would be nice (but not required), if I could choose, Tipo hubs and Super Champion rims would be the ones since I cant afford Maxi Cars. I prefer high flange (but low is OK as well) and Mavic, Weinmann or ? rims would be great as well. They dont have to be perfect as I am trying to keep this bike unpolished and in everyday rider condition.

After cleaning all the grease off of the bike I found very nice yellow lug lining under 40 years of dirt. Also I machined a new chainstay rubber slap guard mount and brazed it on to replace the broken off original. Very soon I am repairing both of the racks as well. Hoping to have it all together this month for a ride as it will be the bikes 41st birthday and some pics will follow when it is finished.

If anyone knows anyone that has owned this bike or any history on it please let me know.

Thanks,

Erik Reese
