Hi Bill,

I learned while being employed in the oil and gas business that rubber rejuvenation is impossible and the moisture that is in rubber is from the refined process at the plant or refinery. You can maybe buy some time, but it is impossible to rejuvenate. That was sad because I had several sets of original globe Campy hoods that were NOS and to just watch them crumble when riding, putting on or taking off. The best I have heard from Bruce Thomson, who is another CR member, is using Son-of a gun helps. ArmorAll is horrible. I will look into the glycerin and see if that will help too. Baby powder is good too, but the best is to buy some knock-offs from a fellow right here on the CR list. Robbie Fellows has the most beautiful hoods and they are made from silicon. The stuff lasts a long time and silicons worst enemy is UV's (the sun). He can be reached at rnitro69@aol.com. I receive nothing in profit from this man and his wonders he creates with silicone are truly amazing.

Best Regards, John Proch La Grange, Texas

I should clarify that I have both black and gum NOS hoods...if that makes a difference. Someone recommended glycerine. ..but I have no idea what that is.
