Subject: [CR] TTT handlebars, Masi Chain rings!

Greetings all:

I am curious about what the correct TTT handlebars are for a 1970 era Italian steed.

Thanks to the help of a wonderfully talented CR lister, I've lined up a very nice TTT Gran Prix stem, which I believe is correct vintage - but I am having problems finding any info on line or even in these archives regarding the correct TTT HBs for my 1970 restoration! Anyone have a clue?

I know they should be 26.0 diameter, but that's about all I know. Perhaps just looking at bikes you have from late 60s early 70s that you know to be original TTT equipment some one could shed some light?

I am especially fond of the tighter 38cm style Cinelli bars from that era but they are too large for the stem. Of course if any one has a period correct TTT handlebar they would like to sell - please advise!

Secondly - I am curious about chain ring selection on early 70s Italian Masi's - they seem to have the 53T outer chain ring as standard. Was that a frame size thing, an Italian thing, or just a coincidence? I've seen 7 or 8 1970-72 original Masi's in my size - all with 53T outer crank ring. Thanks Masi aficionados!

Kind regards and happy New year!
