Ladies and gentlemen - As unauthorized proxy for Dale the Webmaster, please let me remind us all of two conventions that really help list quality:

1) Please be sure that the "Subject" line is updated to reflect the essence of your comments. Else many of us will miss your gems; most of us don't have time to read those messages that identify themselves as threads that don't interest us.

2) Please ask yourself, before hitting the "send" icon, if the message is really going to add to the store of wisdom about classic or vintage racing and touring machines. "Attaboys" and "my experience, too" notes don't help, since we're not voting.

I thought about this when harvesting the morning crop of jewels from all of us this morning. I decided to act when I was in the middle of writing my own pearl of wisdom (on variations in nominal tube thickness) when I realized that I had an opinion but no real knowledge...and hit the delete key.
