I echo what Hilary said about Middlemore and add that Middlemore was a respected brand, competing well with fancy models and high quality in its heydays from the 1930s through the 1950s (?) ..... then slowly it became a more low-to-middle ground producer, ending up at the lower end of the scale toward its final disappearance from the marketplace. Interesting that Brooks was a "player" at all levels from the Wrights more modest models all the way up to titanium railed Swifts.
