Gerald may well have built frames in his earlier days at Carlton but by the 1970s he certainly wasn't building at Raleigh Special Products at Ilkeston. I have it on good authority from two ex employees of Raleigh SPD that whilst Gerald was a superb designer and innovator a lot of the development work for 753 was done at Ilkeston he did not build any frames in that period. And certainly since I've known him since in the late 1980s and 1990s he wasn't building then either. Hilary Stone
