All the A#### serial Raleighs that I have seen in the US have been 1973. I have never heard an explanation for that little aberation in the numbering system but it's definitely real. I have seen D#### serials on 69 Competitions, but never anything older than that. My 67 and 68 US Raleigh catalogs don't show any models at the level of the Comp/G.S. or above. Just REcord, Gran Prix, and maybe Super Curse. I'd put my money on yours being 73.
