Hello,
My name is Roger Bogda and I live in Miami, FL USA.
I have been riding road bikes for over thirty years and it goes without saying that I love bicycles. After ten years on a customized Raleigh Super Course, I acquired my first Cinelli in the early eighties and haven't looked back since. I have always loved racking up miles and was bit by the racing bug in the 80's and raced quite steadily (and locally) for about 6 years. I stopped in racing in 92 due to a car accidient, not because of injury but because the pause of the bike (10 weeks) broke my obsession. I never stopped riding and have returned to racing this last season, once it's in your blood, you can't get it out!
I am best described by the phrase "too many bikes and more n the way". I began acquiring bikes in the late 80's.
Currently I have:
1973 Raleigh Professional - Campy NR, paint by Joe Bell 1974 Schwinn Paramount - Campy-NR/SR paint by Gary Cole 1985 Schwinn Paramount - Shimano Dura Ace SIS, paint by Gary Cole 1983 Cinelli Super Corsa, not currently built up 1984 Olmo, not currently not built up 198? Picchio Speciale pinch tube - Gipiemme , currently in restoration
For racing purposes, I use a 99 Cannondale CAAD3, mostly Dura Ace STI which is about to waranteed out for one of the TT frames...
I also have a Nishiki Linear TT bike that I do not ride anymore, never could get comfortable on the damn thing. Make me an offer......please.....
On order for the next racing season is a MAGMAA titanium frame and fork out of Sweden.
On the horizon for next year is the acqusition of a Reynolds tubing Eddy Merckx that was ridden by Sean Yates in the 89 TdF.
In other areas, I have a cherry 1981 Mercedes 300SD Turbo Diesel sedan with 225,000 miles that is my daily driver, and I must confess, I am also a Toyota MR2 MKI junkie. I currently have a prisitine 1988 SuperCharged model with 103,000 miles and am purchasing a 1985 Normal (non Supercharged) that will become a track day car.
By profession I am a Contract Programmer and Software Developer working in the Topspeed Calrion language.
I am hoping to make to Greensboro next year and look forward to meeting all of you in person.
I am VERY glad to have found the site and list, home at last!
