In late 1982 I ordered a new Masi from Alberto Masi in Italy. It was called the Prestige and was made from Reynolds 531. Had all Super Record Parts including Titanium BB and pedals. I think I counted the Masi name on it 37 times, including the pantograph TTT stem, seat post, the Masi-engraved TTT bars, a Concor saddle stamped Masi on the back, Masi stickers on the rims, and all the various decals and frame engravings. The shifters were engraved too with an ornate design but no name. I do not recall that the chainrings were engraved but he did a nice touch in coloring the inner edges of them yellow. It came with some Masi musettes, and a very nice embroidered wool jersey and some Lycra shorts that said "Team Alberto Masi". And get this, with the exchange rate, I paid under $1200 for this bike, including air shipping. It was a beautiful pearl white color and I always kept it pristine. Alas, in a moment of weakness, I sold it a few years ago to further one of my other hobbies, vintage volkswagens. I have sets of the Masi decals that were proper for that bike, if anyone needs them. $40/set.
