Although many of you are better provisioned than I am, someday you may be forced to use some spokes that are a couple of mm longer than you would like to build up a wheel "right." If so, and if the rim is deeply dished, cutting off the protruding spoke ends can be a problem. I've done it with a dremel-type die grinder in the past, but found a faster method. I just used a steel-cutting composite (grit in fibreglass) disc, and mounted it in the old radial arm saw. Cuts quick. Just be sure not to use a steel-rated ASTM-listed blade, don't stand where fragments could hit you, wear eye protection, and don't call if you get hurt. It didn't tend to grab or do other nasty things, but do this at your own risk.
