There maybe 6 or more varations on this shifter (aka "quadrant") two are associated with USA bikes.One reads Sturmey Archer Tri-coaster and was available as an option on Mead Rangers, Elgins, & others. It was standard on the Elgin Chief. It was made in this country under license from S/A.

The other has a blank chrome faceplate and was made for Sturmey equipped Schwinns.

The last catalog i have with the Quadrant offered as a part is from the late 40's.

Calvert Guthrie Kansas City Where it appears to be warming enough to take out the Clubman style Austro D w/ Sturmey drums. But still cold enough for Filson tweed knickers and Scotland made kneelength wool socks.
